MORE ABOUT YOUR COACH

Hi, I'm Paul

I've been in the fitness industry for over a decade, in roles ranging from Personal Trainer to Fitness Manager, and most recently National Lead for Nuffield Health. Prior to this, I spent years in stressful, corporate office environments, struggling with weight, energy, and not knowing what to do.

Alongside working and being a Dad, I acquired a 1st Class Degree in Exercise Rehabilitation and qualified as a Nutritionist. This, with good time management, and learning from mistakes, allows me to stay active, and in shape so I can keep up with my very hyperactive child!

When not working or being Dad, you'll find me on a Jiu Jitsu mat, either teaching or learning BJJ. I'm a Brown Belt and had a few MMA fights many moons ago. These days it's all just for fun and the social!

FAQs

Is the type of diet suitable for everyone?

For most healthy people, yes. Although, if you're any of the below, I would recommend not doing this type of dieting strategy:
- History of disordered eating.
- A female currently trying to conceive.
- An unmedicated, post-menopausal female.
- Already very lean.
- An in-season performance athlete or training for a sport event.

Are there any guarantees?

Yes, I have complete confidence in my ability to change your life, if you put in the work. That's why I offer a no questions asked, money back guarantee in the first 7 days. If it's not working for you, you don't pay a single penny.

What happens if I take a day off my diet?

Other than slowing your progress slightly, nothing. It's absolutely fine to have days of moderate deficit or maintenance calories, if required. Ideally they'd be pre-planned but if they're not we just need to be reflective. If you find you're starting to binge or struggling on a regular basis, I may suggest a diet break.

If normal diets are hard to stick to, surely this will be harder?

You'd think so, however, the evidence shows that people are far more likely to stick to an aggressive diet than a moderate calorie diet. This is likely because people stick to things when they see it's working and people don't like feeling hungry!

If I already feel hungry in a moderate deficit, won't it be worse on an aggressive diet?

No, in fact, the main reason to do an aggressive diet is that you experience less hunger compared to moderate deficit diets AND maintenance calories. You'll also experience greater fullness/satiety when you do eat.

Won't an aggressive diet put the body into starvation mode, reducing your metabolism and making it impossible to keep it off?

No, the speed that you lose weight is either positive or irrelevant. The greater your initial weight loss, the more likely you are to have reduced weight years later; several studies have shown this. The total amount you lose may impact weight regain, whether it's done slow or fast.

Is there a risk aggressive dieting will give me an eating disorder?

There is zero evidence that the rate of weight loss has anything to do with the biopsychosocial influences/causes of eating disorders.

Will I lose muscle doing an aggressive diet?

If not done incorrectly, this is possible. However, the method I use includes high protein intake and resistance training to prevent this. Providing these targets are achieved, muscle loss will be minimal, if at all.
